Never before in the history of mankind has the scenario of global, home-made disasters been more realistic. The three planetary crises (climate change, loss of biodiversity and pandemics) are closely linked.

Is it still possible to avoid the icebergs, or is it about managing the impact and its consequences? Using concrete examples from the tropical conservation portfolio of the Frankfurt Zoological Society, crisis drivers will be identified and possible solutions will be shown.

This includes an innovative programme called "Legacy Landscape" for the permanent protection of protected areas.
