Functional morphology of an adaptive radiation - sailfin silversides from Sulawesi as a model system
ZFMK Project lead:

Description

In this project we analyze the functional morphology and ecomorphology within the adaptive radiation of sailfin silversides on the Indonesian island Sulawesi. The focus lies specifically on the jaw apparatus and feeding habits. We investigate the differentiations between the several species and sexes by using diverse two-dimensional and three-dimensional methods. The aim of this project is to explain the differences in morphology and ecology between the different sailfin silverside species and between the sexes.
