The increasing loss of biodiversity urges scientists to develop new techniques for species inventorying. One approach is monitoring of vocalizing species via acoustic sound detectors. Automated sound classifiers (ASCs) can screen digital audio recordings for species-specific calls. In order to build ASCs, audio libraries of the target species and environmental noise are required. These corpora are then used to compute mathematical models of animal vocalizations to track them in sound files.
