The next Annual Meeting of the Gesellschaft für Biologische Systematik will take place on February 23-25, 2012, at the Zoologisches Forschungs-museum Alexander Koenig (ZFMK) in Bonn.
It is the second time the annual conference of the GfBS takes place in Bonn at the ZFMK, after the very first meeting in 1998. With more than 200 participants, this first event was a complete success and essential for the promotion of systematics and taxonomy in Germany. The organisers hope for broad interest of systematists in attending the 2012 meeting. After some large and expensive joint conferences of the GfBS with other societies, the next annual meeting will take place in a more "familiar" circle and at a low conference fee.
As special items on the agenda, special software workshops will offer training for novel sequence analysis tools and for collection management systems. For this, a separate registration is necessary! In addition, participants will have the chance to visit the "new" Biohistoricum at ZFMK.
All topics of biological systematics are welcome! We especially encourage submission of contributions about the topics "acceleration of biodiversity assessments" and "EU networks and projects for research and cooperation".
We look forward to your registration!
The organizers at ZFMK,
Wolfgang Wägele & André Koch
