"Basal Arthropods"

From a curatorial perspective, this section represents the basal hexapods (primarily wingless insects, mayflies, odonates), as well as all arthropods except insects (arachnids, crustaceans, millipedes). The collections hold about 60.000 specimens, with a focus on true spiders, pantopods, and odonates. Our research focuses on the molecular analysis of phylogenetic relationships and the evolution of reproductive behavior and morphology.
